I was lucky enough to get a free ticket to Brian’s book tour event in Coral Gables, FL last week! it was held at Books & Books in Coral Gables. it was a great intimate setting in a room that had us surrounded on all four walls with book shelves from floor to ceiling. The event started with Brian talking about his early childhood and how he got hooked on points and miles at an early age. He had the crowd very engaged in his stories and how we also can also ‘win at travel’. His parents and aunt were front row and he was more than excited to introduce them all and thank them for their support over the years.
Brian did give us a few tips and tricks of how to maximize points and miles, but my highlight of the night was hearing how it all started with him booking his family of 6 RT tickets to Grand Cayman at 12 years old! The crowd was on the edge of their seats all night trying to soak up as much knowledge from him as they could.
I left the event energized and motivated to up my points game and plan my next trip! While I have booked many trips with points and miles in coach, i have yet to master transferring them to a partner to maximize their value or splurge on a business class seat. Hopefully after reading the book I will have more tools in my box so i can make that a reality.
